Hi, I’m Katelin,
I’m a licensed masters level social worker (LMSW) in both Kansas and Missouri + licensed early childhood special education teacher (ECSE), and I’m also currently working toward clinical licensure and Registered Play Therapist (RPT) credentialing. Most importantly I am a mom of four tiny humans — so little-kid feelings, chaos, and big personalities are very much part of my everyday life.
I’ve spent more than 10 years working with young children and families in a lot of different settings. From a special education classroom in a Head Start program + local school district, to work with children and families involved in foster care, and to work in early intervention supporting young children and their families with developmental delays and disabilities. Over the years, I’ve gotten to work with young children from a lot of different angles — in the classroom, in their homes and natural environments, alongside parents and caregivers, and right in the middle of everyday family life
My training includes Child-Centered Play Therapy, SPACE, Theraplay, DC:0–5, Conscious Discipline, Second Step, and other early childhood social-emotional approaches. I also hold an infant mental health endorsement and have continued to build my training around the ways young children communicate, regulate, connect, and learn through play.
The part of this work I love most is helping adults understand what kids are trying to communicate underneath the behavior — and helping kids practice the skills they’re still learning. I’m a big believer that support for young children should feel playful, practical, and realistic for actual families and classrooms.
